Minister of Education
Naftali Bennett is Israel's Minister of Education. Bennett has been the Economy Minister and Minister of Jerusalem and Diaspora Affairs, and Minister of Religious Affairs. He is chairman of “Jewish Home” (HaBayit Hayehudi), the fourth largest political party in the current Knesset. MK Bennett was elected to the Knesset after careers in the Israeli hi-tech industry, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and the public sector. Today, he holds the rank of major and is an active reservist in the IDF's General Staff Reconnaissance Unit, better known as Sayeret Matkal. In 1999, Mr. Bennett co-founded and served as the CEO of Cyota, an anti-fraud software company that was sold for $145 million six years later. In 2006, he was called up to fight in the Second Lebanon War, after which he turned to the public sector and served as chief of staff for then-opposition leader Binyamin Netanyahu. Before running for Knesset in 2013, Mr. Bennett served as CEO of the Council of Judea and Samaria (Yesha Council).
