Yair Lapid is A Memebr of the Knest and a former Minister of Finance. Lapid is the founder and head of Yesh Atid (There is a Future), the second largest political party in the current Knesset. Prior to politics, he was a popular television personality, having anchored the main Friday evening news program for three years. He also hosted “Yair Lapid,” the popular talk-show on Israel's Channel 2 for 8 years. Minister Lapid also wrote what was probably the most widely read and frequently quoted weekly column in Israel for Yediot Ahronot (Israel's leading daily) from 2002 until recently. In addition to his journalism career, he is also a prolific writer. He has published 11 books (translated and distributed in numerous countries), a number of which became #1 bestsellers in Israel. His most recent bestseller, “Memories After my Death”, was a biography of his father (also journalist and politician) Yosef “Tommy” Lapid.
