Dr. Avner Golov
Research fellow and Director of Research Programs, INSS
Dr. Avner Golov is a research fellow and Director of Research Programs at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies (INSS). He was recently awarded the 2017 Peter Ackerman award for an outstanding doctoral dissertation from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University and the Morris Abrams award in international relations. Dr. Golov was an Israel Institute Doctoral Fellow, a Harry S. Truman Scholar at the Fletcher School, and an adjunct researcher for the Middle East Security Research Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). At INSS he was the special assistant to INSS Executive Director Maj. Gen. (ret.) Amos Yadlin. Previously he served at Israel’s National Security Staff. Dr. Golov has published articles in Israeli and international leading journals, including Foreign Affairs, Foreign Policy, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, and National Interest. He received his MA magna cum laude in government studies from the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya, and PhD in International Relations at the Fletcher School.
