Suat Kiniklioglu is executive director of the Center for Strategic Communication (STRATIM). He served in the Turkish Parliament from 2007 to 2011. In parliament he was chairman of the US Caucus and spokesman of the foreign affairs committee. He served as deputy chairman of external affairs of the Justice and Development Party. He parted ways with the AKP in 2012. In 2014 and 2015 Mr Kiniklioglu became Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress in Washington D.C. and the Institute of Politics of the University of Chicago. He writes a weekly column for Today’s Zaman. Prior to his political career Mr. Kiniklioglu was director of the German Marshall Fund’s Ankara office and served as liaison officer in the Turkish Air Force. He holds a B.Sc. from the Turkish Air Force Academy, a B.A. in Political Science from Carleton University and a Master in International Relations degree from Bilkent University.
